4 journos attacked in Goaso

Some journalists have been assaulted while investigating the destruction of some cocoa farms in Goaso in the Brong Ahafo region.

The farms were being destroyed to pave way for a road construction.

The journalists claim they were assaulted on the orders of the Goaso chief.

One of the victims, Nester Kafui Adwumah told Starr News their intention was to help the cocoa farmers whose farms were being destroyed.

“Some cocoa farmers called us from Goaso that their farms were being destroyed for a road project without their knowledge or even compensation.”

“upon reaching there, we saw some heavily built men who were ordering us to leave the place because the Omanhene had directed them to prevent us from doing our work, so war of words took place and they threatened to shoot us if we continued to argue with them,” he alleged.
