The Clergy not helping fight against corruption – Kwesi Pratt

Ace journalist, Kwesi Pratt Junior says the clergy in the country is increasingly losing its moral right in the fight against corruption.

According to him, the conduct of some pastors makes it difficult for the citizenry to take their stance on corruption seriously.

In his view, the increasing demands on government officials by some key pastors in the country is contributing to the rise of corruption in public offices.

“The church by its own conducts encourages people to be rich because where you sit in church is determined by your status. So everybody wants to be known and you cannot blame people when they want to be acknowledged as better than the other,” the Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper said on Radio Gold’s Alhaji and Alhaji, Saturday.

He said the fight against corruption can be won if the society is oriented to appreciate hard work and diligence instead of the quick rise to fame and riches syndrome, which appears to be the order of the day.
