Chief urges his people to stop sorcery

Nana Kwaw Fosu III, Chief of Breman Jamra, has said people living in the community who indulged in sorcery should stop because such activities did not bring development.

He said sorcery had contributed to the retrogression of the community and appealed to his people to rely “on the Omnipotent God for He will never forsake them.”

Nana Kwaw Fosu, an educationist, said this when he addressed a colorful durbar to raise funds for development as part of activities to mark the Odwira festival.

It was on the theme “Material and Human Resources for Development”.

“Put your trust and faith in the God and stop fetish activities,” the chief said.

He appealed to parents to invest in the education of their children instead of spending lavishly on funerals and litigation.

Nana Kwaw Fosu appealed to the youth to desist from immoral activities like smoking, indecent dressing and disrespect for authority since their involvement in such acts would not bring progress into their lives.

Mr. Kobina Koomson, a retired educationist through whose initiative Distance Education Programme was introduce in University Of Cape Coast (UCC), encouraged the youth in the area to take advantage of the Distance Education programe in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa (AOB) by UCC to enroll at the center in Breman Asikuma to reduce cost of travelling far to further their education.

He donated 5,000 Ghana cedis as seed money for establishment of Educational Endowment Fund for brilliant but needy students in the town and invited guests also contributed 10,000 Ghana cedis.
