Tamale NGO donates computers to school

Savanna Signatures (SavSign), a Tamale based NGO, has presented five computers and their accessories to the St. Charles Senior High School in Tamale to enhance their knowledge in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Mr Raphael McClare Asomey, a project officer at Savanna Signatures, who made the presentation on Wednesday, said SavSign was an ICT for Development (ICT4D) oriented organisation, which provides ICT needs to Basic Schools.

He said though the NGO had not expanded to cover Senior High Schools, the donation to St. Charles was one of its social responsibilities to the school, as it groomed and nurtured the Director of SavSign, Mr John Stephen Agbenyo.

“Mr John Stephen Agbenyo is a past student of St. Charles and as the school is observing its Feast Day to commemorate one man who distinguished himself, the NGO thought it wise to make the presentation on his behalf,” he stated.

Mr Collins Mba, PTA chairman of St. Charles, who received the computers commended SavSign for the gesture and appealed for more computers to improve the teaching and learning of ICT.
