Kwabre SHS benefits from GETFund projects

Government is spending Four Million Ghana Cedis from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) on the construction of infrastructural projects for the Kwabre Senior High School (SHS) at Akuma in the Nkoranza Municipality.

The projects include separate boys and girls dormitories, four staff bungalows, a dining hall with kitchen attached, an Administration block, and a two-storey classroom block.

Mr. Samuel Okyere, Headmaster of the school disclosed at a staff meeting with Mr. Godfred Axolu, Nkoranza South Municipal Director of Education, during the maiden visit of the latter to the school.

Mr. Okyere said the Traditional Authorities of the town have allocated about 62 acres of land for the school’s development, stressing that the Board of Governors and Management were doing everything possible to secure the land with the necessary documents to prevent encroachment by unauthorized people.

He gave a brief history of the school’s establishment, saying it was started as a Community Day School in 2007 by the people of the area, but was absorbed by Government into the public education system in 2012.

Mr. Axolu, stressed the need for the staff to work in unity, and offer selfless and dedicated services for improved academic standards.

He also urged the students to be self-disciplined, obedient and respectful to their teachers, to enhance teaching and learning.

The school has a current student population of 350.
