People’s Progressive Party opens nomination

The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has said it was poised to win the Komenda- Edina- Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Constituency seat in the 2016 general election to turn around what it described as “the bleak economic future” of the constituency.

According to the party, the developmental projects initiated by the Founder, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom in the constituency was an indication that it was the only party that was dedicated to its development and must be given the mantle to expand the good work started.

Mr. Badu Tentey, the KEEA Chairman of the Party, made this known at a press conference held in Elmina on Thursday to open nominations for the prospective parliamentary candidates.

A nomination form costs GHc1, 500.00 and nomination closes on December 12, this year. Mr. Tentey said the youth in the constituency had lost sight of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) due to their inability to create jobs for them adding that even the PPP which was not in power had created several job avenues for them.

He enumerated the job avenues to include a quarry and concrete products factory at Yesunkwa near Ataabadze, three branches of the Groupe Nduom Bank, real estate development, hospitality industries and a community library.

He said it was based on the good works that the party sought to take over the administration of the constituency to enable it bring on board more progressive ventures calculated to enhance productivity to help boost employment and to push the developmental agenda to a higher gear.
