Missing Court Records Books Found

Barely a week after the ”Ghanaian Times” reported the mysterious loss of a civil records book belonging to the Sunyani High Court, it has been found in an equally puzzling manner. The book, which had gone missing for three years and was nowhere to be found after several rounds of searches, has wonderfully appeared at the court’s strong room.

It was found after the ”Times” broke the story about its mysterious disappearance. Unknown to the paper, it was not only that book that had gone missing, but two others as well. The three books were found after three hours of intensive search initiated by the Deputy Chief Registrar who was not working at Sunyani when the books got missing.

The loss of the books halted proceedings on most cases at the court. One of the people who had cases there, therefore petitioned the Chief Justice on the delay of the case.

This prompted the Presiding Judge, Justice Baffoe Bonnie (also new at the Court) to call the case only to be told that the book containing the case cannot be traced. The Judicial Service announced that it will investigate the case.
