Robbery victim arrests attacker

A suspected member of a robbery gang that attacked and robbed a teacher of his money and other valuables, has been arrested and is being held by the Police in Kumasi.

Akwasi Ofori and two other accomplices, armed with knives attacked the victim at the Asafo Interchange and forcibly removed his cash, cellular phone and other items, but the victim fought back bravely, managed to seize the suspect while the others fled, and with the help of other people, handed him over to the Police.

Police Chief Superintendent Laar Baman, Kumasi Central District ‘A’ Commander, told a press briefing that the incident happened on October 17, at about 1945 hours.

The victim, whose name he did not give for security reasons, was returning to the house, when all of a sudden the criminals struck.

Chief Superintendent Baman said, the Police were doing everything possible to arrest his fugitive colleagues and prosecute all of them.
