Otumfuo praises DCOP Kofi Boakye

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has expressed satisfaction about the current security situation in Kumasi and the Ashanti Region in general.

Addressing a large gathering on Monday when the Minister of Local Government, Julius Debrah and other government officials stormed the Manhyia Palace, he disclosed that “the days when criminals operated freely in Kumasi and its environs is now a thing of the past.”

Otumfuo noted that all hardened criminals in the region have fled the area because they were afraid to be arrested by the police.

Without mincing words, the Asante King stated that the Ashanti Region is peaceful now mainly because of DCOP Kofi Boakye’s presence in the area.

According to him, prior to the arrival of DCOP Kofi Boakye as Regional Police Commander, Kumasi’s security was shaky.

The Asantehene described DCOP Kofi Boakye as a professional police officer whose hard work should be emulated by his colleagues.

Otumfuo stated that “DCOP Kofi Boakye would not hesitate to arrest you if you flout the law whether you belong to the NDC or the NPP.”

The Asante King pledged his full support for DCOP Kofi Boakye, urging him to sustain his hard work.

Otumfuo disclosed that the NPP and the NDC had accused DCOP Kofi Boakye of being bias towards them, saying, “This shows that he is a professional.”

According to him, DCOP Kofi Boakye believes that all and sundry are equal before the law “so he is not afraid to arrest you irrespective of your political party.”

Otumfuo said if all policemen should act professionally like DCOP Kofi Boakye, Ghana would be a safe place to live.

He charged DCOP Kofi Boakye to sustain his good works since a large number of the people were satisfied with his good works.
