NGO donates surgical items to Ho Hospital

The Volta Forum Trust, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) on Thursday donated assorted surgical accessories worth seven million cedis to the Volta Regional Hospital at Ho.

Presenting the items, Togbui Sri III, regent of the Awomefia Stool, who represented the organisation, was hopeful that the donation would make “operations more affordable to the people”.

He said the Trust has submitted proposals to the Ghana Aids Commission (GAC) towards implementing an HIV/AIDS Peer Education Project in second cycle schools in the region.

Togbui Sri appealed to citizens of the region to embrace the self-help spirit to the region’s development.

Dr Geoffrey Nyamuame, Medical Superintendent of the Hospital received the items and expressed appreciation for the donation and hoped other organisations and individuals in the region would show similar interest.
