Cocoa purchasing company rewards clerks

OLAM Ghana Limited, a licensed cocoa buying company (LBC), has honoured 143 of its purchasing clerks (PCs) with prizes for hard work, loyalty and dedication.

They received deep freezers, television (TV) sets, mobile phones, wrist watches, certificates and cutlasses.

Mr Isaac Essuman from Tarkwa was adjudged the overall best PC for the year.

The LBC Head for the Company’s Ghana Cocoa Business, Mr Eric Asare Botwe, said they would continue to motivate their workers to give it their all to increase productivity.

He reminded the clerks to avoid any acts that are likely to damage the corporate image of the company and they should be open and transparent in their dealings with cocoa farmers and resist the temptation to cheat.

Mr Botwe also spoke of the need for them to encourage best farming practices not only to boost crop yield but maintain the quality of the nation’s cocoa beans.

He re-affirmed OLAM’s determination to remain a major player in the internal cocoa trade.

Mr Essuman said they were overwhelmed and that the recognition would only energize them to work with passion to meet the set targets.
