AFAG to picket against NDC gov’t Nov 4

A pressure group – Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) – has scheduled November 4, 2014 to demonstrate against “excessive abuse and misuse of State resources by National Democratic Congress (NDC) appointees.”

The pressure group flayed the Mahama-led administration, saying “Ghanaians have not seen any value for money ever since the NDC took over from the New Patriotic Party in 2009.”

The group said in a statement: “We can only boast of well organised corruption. There is a new revelation of waste and misuse of State resources. There appears to be a well organised attempt to strip the State naked of its funds by dishonest appointees filled with greed.”

In recent times, major media headlines have focused on corruption being uncovered at the National Service Secretariat – Gh¢ 7.9 million being paid to over 20, 000 non-existent service personnel – and at the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) among others.
