Ashanti regional A-G dept on strike

Lawyers at the Attorney General’s department in the Ashanti region is on strike over unpaid allowances.

“State Attorneys at this department would be embarking on an indefinite strike commencing Wednesday” a statement pasted at the premises of the department noted.

According to the lawyers, their clothing, fuel and leave allowances have not been paid for the last two years.

The staff also complain of the lack of logistics to work with.

Sources say the latest action was triggered by reports that their counterparts in Accra have been paid their allowances.
