Gov’t will fail without peace – Minister

Mr Daniel Syme, Deputy Upper East Regional Minister, has observed that without peace the implementation of government policies and programmes would fail.

The Deputy Minister, who made the observation during this year’s regional celebration of Eid-Ul-Adha in Bolgatanga at the weekend appealed to Ghanaians to shun intra and inter religious, ethnic and political conflicts to pave way for accelerated development.

“You must all endeavour to tolerate views from one another irrespective of your religious, ethnic, political backgrounds,” he stressed.

He indicated that virtues in Islam such as peace and love are unique when it comes to development.

The Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Yusif Adams who led the prayers, prayed for national peace, peace in Bawku and against the Ebola viral disease that has plagued some West African states.
