Assault charge against me “bogus” – Kofi Jumah

Embattled New Patriotic Party firebrand, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has described as “bogus” the assault charge leveled against him by the Ashanti regional police.

“Listen folks, the charges against me are bogus, trumped up charges. Let me warn them that I AM NOT AFRAID OF THE POLICE.

“Only criminals are afraid of the police and I am not a criminal like most (of) the people” the former Asokwa MP wrote on his Facebook, Saturday.

Jumah is facing charges for allegedly beating up one James Agah, whom he accused of stealing his phone.

The 47-year-old victim was reportedly pounded by the former Kumasi Mayor and six others suspected to be his bodyguards, for the alleged theft.

The former Kumasi Mayor who was in police custody for several hours on Friday October 3, also threatened to “deal” with the media house in Kumasi that reported the incident.

“…Then that bogus reporting from Nhyira FM with collaboration from the police. I will deal with that radio station later,” he stated.
