Speaker recalls Parliament for emergency sitting

Speaker of Parliament Edward Doe Adjaho has summoned all the 275 members of the House for an emergency sitting, TV3 has gathered.

It is unclear what the sitting on Wednesday, October 1 will consider.

Members have been asked to congregate at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC).

A notice to that effect said the Speaker is summoning members based on Standing Order 38 of Parliament and Article 112 (3) of the 1992 Constitution.

The Sixth Parliament rose on Friday, July 18 and was scheduled to reassemble next month but later than the Speaker’s recall date.
