Akufo-Addo congratulates David Cameron on referendum result

This is to congratulate warmly British Prime Minister, David Cameron, and the people of the United Kingdom on the result of Thursday’s referendum which saw the people of Scotland vote decisively to stay within the confines of the United Kingdom.

For some of us who have been at the forefront of promoting regional and continental integration, especially in Africa, the September 18, 2014 vote comes as a firm vindication and reinforcement of the fact that prosperity and economic progress can be achieved, rapidly, with a united people pursuing a common agenda.

Congratulations, once again, to the people of the United Kingdom on this important decision and I pray for many years of economic success and progress for them.

God bless!
