Regional Minister Calls For Sacrifice

Mr. Joseph B. Aidoo, Western Regional Minster called on Ghanaians to sacrifice for the good of their neighbours and the nation.

He said, “without sacrifice, our aim at developing the nation will be in vain”

Mr. Aidoo said this at the Eid UI-Adha festival of Muslims held at Takoradi. Ghana should serve as an inspiration to all.

Mr. Aidoo noted that the sacrifice of animals by Muslims should correspond with their attitude and urged them to devote their time and resources for the development of their children, the elderly and the disable.

Imam Abdulai Seidu, Imam for the occasion called on Muslims to take education of their children seriously. He said this would help in reducing the increasing poverty and ignorance among Muslim communities. Imam Seidu reminded them that Islam is peaceful and as such all Muslims must live at peace with people of other faith. He advised them to let discipline and environmental sanitation be their watchword as they celebrate the festival of sacrifice.

At the Takoradi Polytechnic Park, Maulvi Naveed Ahmad Aadil, Western Regional Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, said the essence of the Eidul-Adha is to impress upon Muslims the need to make sacrifices for their religion and the country.

He said Muslims should be loyal to their country and contribute towards its prosperity and the well being of citizens irrespective of their religious affiliations.

Malvi Aadil said the festival is celebrate every year to remind Muslims of the importance of sacrifice and to enable them to rededicate themselves to this goal. Malvi Aadil asked them to use the festival to pray for peace in the country and Cote D’Ivoire.
