Students aged between 17 and 25 and drawn from senior high schools, polytechnics and teacher training colleges in the Bekwai Municipality have benefitted from a month-long vacation classes.
The programme was co-sponsored by Mr. Francis Aduoffei, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ceciyaa Foundation, a USA-based non-governmental organisation (NGO), Amansie Facebook College, and Amelia International, following the successful organisation of the classes last year by the Amansie Facebook College, headed by Mr. Rich Cann, a US-based Ghanaian.
The Amansie Facebook Club donated GH¢1,500 towards the organisation of the classes.
The Member of Parliament for Bekwai, Joseph Osei-Owusu, who graced the closing ceremony, encouraged the students to take their studies serious, as they prepare for life and national development.
He thanked Mr. Amankwa of the Ghana Education Service for coordinating the exercise, and ensuring the supply of study materials for the classes. In another development, Amelia International has feted about 430 kids.
Meanwhile, the Amansie Facebook College has decided to paint six classrooms and an office of the Roman Catholic ‘B’ school in a facelift exercise.
