Don’t come to my church with Ebola – Opambour warns

Even before Ghana registers any case of the deadly Ebola virus, popular Ghanaian pastor Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom, is warning that his church will not tolerate any member who contracts the virus in case of an outbreak in the West African country.

According to the prophet, members can come to the church with all kinds of diseases including HIV but not Ebola.

Opambour, as he is popularly called, uncharacteristically wore gloves throughout his live service broadcast on Metro TV, Saturday.

“Wherever you are in Ghana, come for your healing and deliverance. Whatever burden you have been laden with, come here, God will deliver you through me but if you have Ebola, don’t come because we are not yet ready for you,” he warned.

The virus has so far killed over 1,900 people since it broke in February, with death tolls shooting up to about 400 in a week.

The World Health Organisation says at least $600m is needed to confront the outbreak of the disease in West Africa.

There have now been about 3,500 cases in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Nigeria and Senegal, WHO Director Margaret Chan confirmed on Wednesday.
