The Ho Rotary Club has commissioned a taskforce to help stop the increasing cases of cholera in the Volta Region.
The taskforce would move into communities, houses and eating places to educate the people on cleanliness and on ways to prevent cholera.
The initiative is in response to the cholera outbreak in the Region with cases increasing daily.
As at Wednesday August 27, the Region recorded 201 cases with five deaths.
Mr Rockson Dogbega, President of the Club described Ketu South’s 110 cases as at August 27 as “disastrous” and declared the area a “crisis zone”, and directed the taskforce to “move to Aflao immediately to save the situation.”
He asked the taskforce to target food vendors at the Ghana-Togo Border and other eating places.
The taskforce included officials of the Environmental Health, Ghana Health Service, National Commission on Civic Education and the media.
Recently, the Club organised a sensitisation exercise at the Ho Central Market to educate traders on personal and environmental hygiene.
