Friends of Manly-Spain celebrate Supreme Court Ruling

Friends of Manly-Spain, have observed a year after the Supreme Court Ruling on August 28, on the 2012 Election Petition which went in favour of National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr Henry Ekow Manly Spain is aspiring to become the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC.

His friends expressed gratitude to God for letting His peace reign in Ghana and also thanked Ghanaians for maintaining peace and tranquility in the country.

The expression of appreciation was in a statement which was signed by Mr Mustapha Ahmed and Arnold Appiah, spokespersons of the Friends of Manly-Spain and copied to Ghana News Agency in Accra.

“We express our profound gratitude to God for seeing us through a year since the Supreme Court of Ghana ruled on a land mark case for the NDC. As we remember this day, we want to thank Ghanaians especially members of the NDC for their love, care, commitment, dedication and selflessness for supporting the government when the going became tough,” the statement said.

It also commended the grassroots of the party in the Region for comporting themselves and not engaging in conflict.

The statement expressed appreciation to the Judiciary, the Counsels for the NDC party and the President, and all individuals and groups who contributed to ensure a peaceful ruling.

“We wish the NDC government and all members a happy one year anniversary and may we forge ahead in unity and rally solidly behind President John Dramani Mahama to deliver the better Ghana Agenda,” it said.

The Election Petition was initiated by the main opposition New Patriotic Party, citing a lot of irregularities in the 2012 General Election such as over voting but the Court dismissed their claims.
