GWCL Denies Chronicle Story

The Managing Director of the Ghana Water Company Limited, Mr Jonathan Nii Ahele Nunoo has described as sensational, a publication in Tuesday?s edition of the Chronicle to the effect that, residents of Accra East, have been served with untreated water for months now.

Mr Nunoo stated on Peace fm that the GWCL has never supplied untreated drinking water to any part of the country since its inception. He said, treatment stations would have shut down treatment plants, if the GWCL had run short of chemicals to treat the water from the source.

Admitting that the company has ran out of the supply of Chlorine to process the water, Mr Nunoo said, the GWCL is using another chemical, a bleaching powder to treat the water.
