Schooling more rewarding than early trading – Nkosuohene

Mr William Vinyo, Nkosuohene (Development Chief) of Kofi Kwei, has asked parents to send their children to school instead of exposing them to child labour.

He noted that children with early acquaintance to trading are vulnerable to prostitution, leading to teenage pregnancies and armed robbery.

Mr Vinyo gave the advice at a durbar of chiefs and people of Kofi Kwei near Amasaman in the Ga South Municipality in the Greater Accra Region during their annual celebration of the Homowo festival.

The Homowo, which is a festival of the Ga-Dangme people, is celebrated to hoot at hunger and promote family reunion.

The Nkosuohene who is vying for the Chairmanship position of National Democratic Congress at Obom-Domeabra assured the people of supplying schools in the area with teaching and learning materials.
