Boy beheaded on farm

A 12-year old boy, class three pupil of Nsuakyere Methodist Primary school was on Sunday, August 24, found dead without his head on a coconut plantation farm at Nsuakyere Township in Effutu Municipality.

In an interview with Ghana News Agency, the Winneba District Police Crime Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mr Kwesi Sarkodie Addo said, the complainants of the case are Mr Patrick Yawson and Mr Charles Bonney both family members of the deceased reported the matter to the police..

According to the Crime Officer, the complainants said on Sunday that Fred Botchway alias Kwesi Akum, 26 now at large who is an uncle to the deceased Solomon Yawson both left to a coconut plantation farm at about 0830 hours.

He said, later in the day the parents of the deceased suspected a foul play and sent a search party to the farm where they did not find either the deceased or Akum.

However a thorough search on the farm led to the discovery of the beheaded corpse.

ASP Addo said the body has since been deposited at Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for autopsy while a manhunt is in place to arrest Akum the suspect.
