NDC race: Boateng Gyan is clueless – Kofi Adams

A national organiser aspirant of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams, has hit hard at the incumbent Yaw Boateng Gyan, describing him as someone who “doesn’t understand his work.”

Adams fears that another term for Gyan can cost the party the 2016 elections hence his decision to run for the post to salvage an imminent defeat.

According to him, his “strong feeling, together with many other persons, is that there is a weak link at the organisational sector of the party and if I come in there, I will be able to coordinate this effective machinery that we already have to give us an assured victory in 2016.”

“Even when you interview the National Organiser and ask him what he has done he will tell you I have shared cars, I did this I did that, that is not the work of an organiser straight away that is the work of the General Secretary and the National Treasurer so it means you have an organiser who seriously doesn’t understand his work.

“You have an organiser who thinks that the work of the Director of Elections is his work so he’s left out what critically he is supposed to do,” Adams, who doubles as the spokesperson of the party’s founder Jerry John Rawlings told Accra-based Joy FM.

Adams, who is a deputy general secretary of the NDC, stressed that he has no ill feelings against Gyan, but since the incumbent is confused about his role there is the need for a fresh face to inject some vibrancy into the party.

“Yaw Gyan is one of my best friends on the executive. If Yaw Gyan was really doing well I wouldn’t go there,” he noted.

The NDC has been in power since 2009.
