Fresh gun shots in Bawku

Reports gathered by Starrfmonline.com indicate that sporadic gun shots have been heard in the Sagagbo community in Bawku in the Upper East region.

According to reports, the gunmen, believed to be members of the Kusasi ethnic group, attempted to attack members of the Mamprusi ethnic group, but were prevented by the prompt response of the Police.

Bawku has witnessed several violent clashes in the past but has experienced relative peace in recent times.

Two people were killed on Monday, and several others were injured in recent gunfights at Patelmeh.

An Eyewitness told Starrfmonline.com that the Upper East regional Police Command has called for reinforcement, after they managed to quell the disturbances.

No injuries or deaths have been recorded so far.
