Expatriate worker dies in a Hotel

One of the expatriates working on the Aboadze Thermal Plant of the Volta River Authority has died in his hotel room at Takoradi.

The deceased whose name was only given as Terry is of Scottish/English origin.

Police sources said he was found dead in his Atlantic Hotel room and his body had since been deposited at the morgue pending further investigation.

The Takoradi Thermal Power Station (TTPS) is located at Aboadze, 17 kilometres east of Sekondi /Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana.

The Power Station which started operation in 1997 was initiated by the Volta River Authority to complement the existing Hydro Plant at Akosombo and Kpong.

Currently the plant is undergoing some expansion works which is expected to add 330 megawatts of power to the national electricity grid.
