A nine-year-old boy killed himself Wednesday evening with his father’s gun at Ofankor, a suburb of Ghana’s national Capital, Accra.
The boy’s mother said she heard a big bang in the family’s room as she took care of her son’s little sisters in the evening.
She said she blacked out in her attempt to verify the incident immediately after the bad news got relayed to her.
The boy’s father has been arrested by Police for possessing an unlicensed gun.
His wife told journalists that the husband procured the gun to fight off robbers who have been terrorising them in the area.
