NRC Appeals to Witnesses

The National Reconciliation Commission (NRC) has appealed to witnesses and those who wish to make statements not to come to the commission to ask when they are to appear for public hearings, but wait till they have been notified.

The Director of the Public Affairs of the NRC, Ms. Annie Anipa, in a statement said, “Statement Makers are therefore advised to wait patiently for the notification and avoid the inconvenience of travelling to the Commission’s office for such enquiries”.

The statement said the public should note that the NRC is still receiving statements from aggrieved persons and witnesses. It said such statements would be investigated before aggrieved persons are invited for public hearing.

It said, “While all statements submitted may not he heard publicly, the Commission wishes to take the opportunity to reassure witnesses that all statements submitted will be fully investigated and recommendations will be made”.

It reminded the public that it has moved its offices from the Independence Square to the Old Parliament House near the Supreme Court building.
