Two remanded for defrauding

A 22 year old unemployed Jonas Quaye (alias “Oket”), a native of Awutu–Beraku in the Central Regional and David Quainoo, 23 of Ajumako Bisease have been remanded in prison custody by the Ajumako District Magistrate Court presided over by Mr. Kpodo Rockson.

Their pleas were not taken and they are to reappear on August 25.

They were charged with conspiracy to commit crime and defrauding by false pretences one Mr. Kofi Otabil a freelance journalist, of the sum of 1,200 Ghana cedis.

The Prosecutor, Inspector William Agbetsiafa, said the suspects assured the complainant Mr. Kofi Otabil of providing him with a dance band and a comedian from Accra to herald the annual Akwambo Festival of the chiefs and people of Ajumako Bisease from August 1 to August 4.

Prosecution said that even though the suspects caused adverts on Breezy FM and pasting of posters in and around Ajumako Bisease, the band and the comedian musician failed to turn up.
