WR set up three Ebola emergency response centres

The Western Regional Office of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has established three Ebola emergency and quarantine response centres as part of the Region’s preparedness to mitigate the viral disease.

Dr Emmanuel Tinkorang, Regional Director of Health said the centres are at Elubo, Effia-Nkwanta and Shama, adding that, another is to be established at Half-Assini.

The Regional Director of Health told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Sekondi on Wednesday that the Regional Health Directorate was in constant touch with the fisher folks along the coast of the Region to pick up early warning signs of the disease.

Dr Tinkorang however expressed worry about foreign students who would be coming into from Ebola endemic countries and called on the Ghana Education Service to collaborate with the Ghana Health Service to deal with this situation.
