Minister urges heads to be involved in governance

Alhaji Amidu Sulemana, Upper West Regional Minister has urged heads of government departments and agencies to actively participate in the management of the region and the overall governance of Ghana.

He said heads should therefore carry out activities with the regional coordinating council to help advance the development of the region to enhance the livelihood of the people.

Addressing the heads at Wa, Alhaji Sulemana said the region had been identified as the poorest in Ghana and that required hard work to enable it to catch up with the rest.

“Let us collectively work hard to lift the region up from its poorest level to a prosperous height,” he said.

Alhaji Sulemana said the development of the region required the heads to give accurate situational reports to the regional coordinating council for onward submission to the government as well as the changing of attitude to work, improving working relations with workers and setting of achievable targets at workplaces.

The heads pledged their support for the Regional Coordinating Council and Alhaji Sulemana to enhance development in the region.
