Mr Clement Eledi, the Deputy Minister of Mines, has said corruption was not an exclusive preserve of politicians and government officials.
”The phenomenon has extensively engulfed the fabric of society where everybody has contributed in one way or the other to the alarming proportion corruption has assumed in the country.”
Mr Eledi was answering questions from the public at the People’s Assembly at Navrongo in the Kassena-Nankana District where a questioner wanted to know efforts government had made so far in stamping out corruption.
He said it was the duty of all Ghanaians to do the right thing and insist on others to also do the same and acts suspected to be corruption-related must be reported for the culprits to be brought to book.
Mr Eledi said the government was determined to truly clamp down on corruption in the country, saying its policy of “Zero Tolerance for Corruption” was not just a mere political slogan.
