Voter registration progresses

In the second day of the National Limited Voter Registration Exercise Sowutuom Registration Centre, in Accra recorded steady progress, as a number of eligible persons turned up to be captured.

Mrs Elizabeth Afrane, Registration Officer at the centre told the Ghana News Agency that people came albeit slowly to register while “more than enough registration materials” had been provided to cover the 10-day exercise.

The limited voter registration exercise gives opportunity to those unable to register in previous registrations prior to the 2012 elections as well as those who have turned 18 to be able to exercise their franchise in future elections.

The exercise, taking place in about 6000 registration centres across the country is expected to close on Wednesday, August 13.
