Accra,(Greater Accra Region) 23, Sept. The Egle Party has appointed Dr Obed Asamoah, Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, as father and life patron of the party. A statement issued in Accra today and signed by Abdul Rahman Jamatutu, Vice-Chairman of the party, said the decision was taken at the national executive meeting yesterday. “After having played an important role in keeping the party on its feet up to date, the party has made him its father and life patron”. The statement said having closely watched and weighed the utterances of some of Dr Asamoah’s opponents “we rather conclude that he is an honest, dedicated and selfless man of high integrity”. It said his detractors might think they erred by picking him but to the party hierarchy Dr Asamoah’s potentials are innumerable and he can help direct the party through the year 2000.
