Kpabia community appeals for classrooms

Naa Alidu Iddrisu, Chief of Kpabia community in the Mion District of the Northern Region, has appealed to the government to consider putting up new classroom blocks for effective teaching and learning in the locality.

He said lack of classroom blocks is affecting the learning progress of children and worsening educational standards.

Naa Iddrisu made the appeal on Tuesday when Mr Dan Makandan, Mion District Chief Executive (DCE), joined Alsuni Muslims in the Kpabia community to pray as part of the Eid -Ul- Fitr celebrations.

He said it is important for the government to also provide teachers’ quarters to ensure that teachers accepted postings to the area.

Naa Iddrisu also asked for the construction of a clinic to provide quality healthcare to the people and to reduce, especially, maternal and infant mortality.

Mr Makandan said government would be responsive to the concerns raised by the chief.

Mr Makandan donated 10 pieces of mats to Muslims in the Kpabia community.
