Construction of Ashaiman model school begins

Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, the Minister of Education, has handed over to contractors the site for the construction of a model school in Ashaiman. Prof Agyemang said the structure was an E-block with 24 class rooms, two libraries, four science laboratories, a computer laboratory, office space for the headmaster and the supporting staff.

She saidstart of the project had to be put on hold because the Ministry, in collaboration with stakeholders, needed to do due diligence to ensure that the project progressed without any stoppage.

The Minister appealed to the private sector to partner the government to stimulate the community for sustainable growth and development.

Mr Joseph Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, said all necessary procedural steps had been taken to ensure a successful project.

Mr. Ibrahim Baidoo, Ashaiman Municipal Chief Executive, said the project was expected to be completed in 18 months.
