GES Staff banned from speaking to TV3

Staff of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Brong Ahafo Region has been barred from speaking to TV3’s Rural Reports programme title ‘Mission Ghana.’

The programme is aimed at unearthing problems in the education and health sectors.

The Brong Ahafo Regional Director of Education, Dr George Adjei-Henne, in a letter, reiterated that the research undertaken by ‘Mission Ghana TV3 Rural Reports’ has the propensity to improve education in rural communities, but the proper procedures regarding entry into schools under the Ghana Education Service have not been followed and, therefore, no staff of the GES in the region is to grant audience to the team that would visit their schools and offices.

Dr Henne has, therefore, warned all Municipal, District Directors of Education and all heads of second-cycle institutions and all staff of the Ghana Education Service (GES) not to have anything to do with the team from ‘Mission Ghana TV3 Rural Reports.’

He noted that TV3 Network Limited has been advised to follow the Ghana Education Service (GES) procedure, and if this is done GES staff would be informed to grant audience to the ‘Miss Ghana TV3 Rural Reports’ team.
