Good days ahead of Ghana – Moderator

The Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church, Rt. Rev. Dr. Edem Tettey, has called on Ghanaians to exercise restraint and pray for and the nation because there are good days ahead of the country.

He said regardless of the challenges that Ghana was facing, there would be a turn-around in the socio-economic situation of the country.

“It will happen to Ghana like it happened to that city of Israel when there was so much famine and there was no hope that anything good can come out, it took just one night and the things changed,” he said.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Tettey said President John Mahama’s administration as the most difficult heckled throughout by strike actions, demonstrations, increments in utilities, goods and services and the effect of world market.

The Moderator, who said this in a sermon to commission 16 new pastors of the Global Evangelical Church in Accra, announced that the church would embark on a three-day fasting and prayer for the nation, urging the congregants to take part in the prayer programme.

The pastors took their commissioning vows to faithfully discharge their duties, serve God and humankind, diligently fashion their lives according to the teaching of Christ, seek unity and peace and become wholesome examples to others.

The newly commissioned pastors will serve in their assigned congregations on probation for two years and having performed creditably for this period, they will be recommended by their various Presbyteries for ordination.
