Bolgatanga (U/E Region) — Mr Mahami Salifu, the Upper East Regional Minister, has reminded district chief executives (DCEs) to ensure that all official documents are treated with the utmost circumspection as required by the law.
He pointed out that the leakage of vital official documents undermines the sovereignty of the state.
Mr Salifu, who gave the reminder when he addressed this year’s get-together of workers of the Bolgatanga District Assembly, noted with concern that, “where official documents filter to where they are not supposed to go, it can create an unfortunate situation for the government”.
The Regional Minister was emphatic that “official documents should not be allowed to move unnecessarily in an office,” and therefore cautioned the DCEs to take serious note of the order.He pointed out that the government is ever prepared to listen to opinions on how the country should be governed.
He stressed that, “with its high sense of humility, the NPP government is prepared to take suggestions of all forms which are geared towards the effective development of the country”.Mr Salifu urged the people to be prepared to accept hard decisions of the government aimed at resuscitating the economy.
The Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Rockson Bukari, observed that land disputes in the area are seriously undermining the development programmes. He therefore urged assembly members to endeavour to resolve all land related problems in their respective electoral areas.
Mr Bukari appealed to all workers of the assembly to put behind them jealousies, petty backbiting and partisan politics and rather contribute their individual efforts to develop the district.
