Zuuga Tiiga exudes ability to calm UE Avea Nsoh protestors

The Upper East Regional minister-designate has assured he will calm groups protesting the removal of his predecessor when given the nod.

James Zuuga Tiiga gave the assurances during his vetting in parliament on Tuesday.

President john Dramani Mahama’s removal of Dr. Ephraim Avea Nsoh as Upper East Regional Minister has sparked several protests in the region.

Most recent of these was last Fridays street demonstration by a group calling itself the Concerned Youth Association. The group bore placards threatening among other things to reshuffle president Mahama’s administration come 2016.

Another group calling itself the Concerned Tertiary Students, is collaborating with some chiefs to demonstrate on Monday July 14.

Speaking to the vetting committee however, Mr. Zuuga Tiiga was emphatic he has what it takes to let sanity prevail in the Region.

He exuded, “I have worked both in Ghana’s bilateral and multilateral missions and if for nothing at all, I have learnt about being able to reconcile people, being able to listen to the other side of people and to come out with a conclusion.”

He indicated that he read all the agitations in the democratic light of diverse opinions and not as a show of enmity.
