Allotey snaps: Why the rush to declare Castro dead?

Central Regional Communications Director of the governing National Democratic Congress [NDC] has expressed worry at the way and manner the media is treating the unfortunate news of renowned Hip-life artiste, Castro’s jet ski incident.

He described as “unethical,” the media’s pronouncement of the dead of Castro even when his body had not been be found.

The Marine division of the Ghana Police Service is said to be working tirelessly to find the “Ghana Girls” hitmaker and his female friend, Janet Bandu, who went missing on Sunday while riding a jet ski at Ada.

The two went missing on Sunday after allegedly drowning in a Jet Ski accident at Ada where they were partying with some friends, including Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan.

Peacefmonline.com entertainment reporter Eugene Osafo Nkansah who was at the scene on Monday morning, noted that, the Marine Police have deployed its speed boats and other modern equipment in the their search, hoping to rescue the duo alive or dead.

Despite the search, sections of the media have already declared the two dead with pictures circulating on social media [Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter, etc.]

Nonetheless, Allotey Jacobs believes instead of Ghanaians praying for the rescue team to find Castro and his alleged girlfriend, they are rather wishing him dead.

He noted that, the behaviour depicts that of politicians who are piqued to see a ruling government deliver.

“Ghanaians are treating Castro like a politician. Why are we declaring him dead whiles he is missing and his body cannot be found?” He questioned.

Adding that, “Just as we cannot wait to see President Mahama perform…that is the same way we can’t wait and pray to hear that Castro is alive”.

He however expressed optimism on Adom FM that the award winning artiste might still be alive.
