Jehovah’s Witnesses to hold annual convention

Asokore-Mampong, a sprawling community on the periphery of the Kumasi Metropolis, will be the venue for this year’s convention of the Jehovah’s Witnesses (J W).

The convention will be run for 13 successive weekends starting from Friday, July 25, for an estimated 45,000 people belonging to the faith in the region.

A release signed by Mr Edward Appiah, Regional Media Contact Person, and copied to Ghana News Agency said the programme would be held on the theme: “Keep seeking first God’s kingdom.”

It would provide the platform to offer exhaustive explanations to common questions most faiths ask about what the kingdom of God is and how that can impact positively on life in the world.

The release said the convention marks the centenary of the reign of Jesus Christ as King of God’s Kingdom since 1914 – a core belief of the Witnesses.
