Kufuor Reprimands Edumadze Again

President Kufuor has reportedly given Central Regional Minister, Isaac Edumadze a stern warning to act in an acceptable manner or risk being sacked. The Independent newspaper says the President even gave him an option of resigning.

The paper says the Minister has been cited in many acts of misdemeanour. But Mr. Edumadze has denied that the President asked him to resign.

However sources at Cape Coast have confirmed that Mr. Edumadze told some of his staff at the Regional Administration that he may not be with them after sometime.

The paper says in the aftermath of the scolding, some New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency Chairmen from the Central region paid the President a visit on New Year?s Day to plead on behalf of the Minister.

But one of them told the paper that they went to reassure the President of their unflinching support.
