Presby Church donates to Senior Correctional Centre

The Nantoma Memorial Congregation of the Presbyterian Church, Kanda on Saturday donated a tank, packs of toilet roll and scrubbing brushes worth GH¢ 2000 to the Senior Correctional Centre (SCC).

Reverend Emmanuel Osafo- Boateng, Minister-In-Charge of the Church said the donation was part of activities marking its 30th anniversary celebration, aside the usual social responsibility.

He said the presentation shows the concern and love the Church has, for the institution, adding: “This will build and strengthen the relationship between the two, henceforth.”

In an interview with Ghana News Agency, he said the church recognises the role the SCC plays in the society. Mr Paul Acquah, Administration Officer of SCC, who received the items on behalf of centre, expressed gratitude to the Church.

The SCC is a juvenile correction institute under the Ghana Prisons Service and serves as a centre for people who are under 18 years old and have been convicted of criminal or civil offenses.
