Chaplain admonishes students to radiate knowledge

Reverend Lawson Dzanku, Chaplain of the Evangelical Presbyterian University College (EPUC), on Sunday, exhorted students of the University to radiate the light of knowledge acquired, and do the right thing at all times.

He was addressing the 2013/2014 second semester closing and thanksgiving service in Ho.

“Be God fearing, responsible and lead lives worthy of emulation in order to sell the good name of this institution outside,” he admonished.

In a sermon, Reverend Jehoiada Godwin Amuzu, Executive Director of Youth for Christ Heritage (YUFRIST), a Christian organisation, advised the students to expose wrongdoers rather than glorify and condone them.

The theme for the occasion was “Fear Not,” based on Matthew chapter 10 verses 24 to 39.

“Those who glorify sin are those who do not want the status quo to be changed, hence the proliferation of corruption, cheating and even institutional syndicates which you must expose,” Rev. Amuzu said.

Rev. Amuzu, who is also the Pastor in charge of Torgorme district of the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Church, said evil and sin have bedeviled the country because there was no fear of God even among Christians, cautioning that “unless we do what God wants us to do all our prayers and interventions will hit a snag”.

Rev. Amuzu asked Christians to be patient as God rolled out his plans for them.

He cautioned the out-going students against anti-social activities, and advised them to rely on God to safeguard their future.

Mr Daniel Delali Kornu, who is in charge of Industrial Attachment, cautioned students who might attempt to cheat at the end of the semester examinations that “we are also scheming to catch you”.
