Nana Boys Fume: “We will kill for Akufo-Addo to be President”

A new song has emerged promoting violence as a means to get the twice defeated presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, elected ahead of the party’s December 6 presidential primaries.

This revelation was made known by Mr. Kwesi Korang, a supporter of Dr. Frimpong Boateng, a presidential hopeful.

Kwesi Korang, who confirmed he was beaten by a well known Nana Addo boy whose name he gave as Ebo (former assembly member of Asylum Down), said supporters of Nana Addo composed the song as a way to deter their opponents.

“We were at the hotel and we heard supporters of Nana Addo shouting on top of their voices: ‘we will kill people, we won’t allow anyone to contest if you don’t accept Nana Addo as presidential candidate. We will kill for Nana Addo to become president’. This does not befit a party that claims it brought democracy to Ghana,” he bewailed.

Narrating the incident to Montie FM’s Nana Beduwa, Kwesi Korang disclosed that Ebo also threatened to eliminate him, adding that he has reported the incident to the police and hopes investigations will be carried out as soon as possible.

“I’m deeply worried over recent developments in the NPP. A party that adopts a violent way of electing its flagbearer cannot use the same violent means to campaign for votes. That is exactly how we projected Nana Addo; that he is a violent person and as such he will win the elections. But look at how we crashed as a party,” he condemned.

He is therefore calling on party supporters to refrain from violence and stay united for the good of the party.

The incident occurred at the Alisa Hotel, June 6, when the party opened nominations for presidential aspirants ahead of their primaries.
