Akufo-Addo Is like a ‘God’ In NPP but… – NDC Stalwart

National Democratic Congress [NDC] Central Regional Communications Director, Bernard Allotey Jacobs, says the opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP] will have no option than to elect two-time Flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to lead the party again in the 2016 presidential polls.

According to him, Nana Addo who has been tagged as a statesman during and after his pivotal role in the nation’s historic 2012 Election Petition at the apex court, is being hailed in the elephant fraternity like a “God”.

This he believes will be a privilege on the side of the presidential hopeful [Nana Addo] to lead the NPP for the third time as a presidential candidate.

He, however, noted that, inasmuch as he supports Nana Addo’s candidature for the flagbearership position, he pointed out that, “the NDC is not afraid of Nana Addo, and he [Nana Addo] can never beat President John Mahama in any election”.

As the party [NPP] gears up for its presidential primaries tentatively slated for December, 2014, supporters of the various presidential hopefuls have hit the road running, campaigning vigorously to get their preferred choice elected as leader of the party.

One of such groups is the Greater Accra Youth wing of the party, which is demanding the other aspirants vying for the flagbearership position allow Nana Akufo-Addo to go unopposed.

This call has been shot down by many including Akufo-Addo himself, with his office saying unequivocally that he is ready for competition.

Discussing the issue on Asempa FM, Allotey Jacobs opined that, the call for Nana Addo to run unchallenged is perilous.

“If that is the case, I am seeing an implosion in the NPP,” he said.
