Continue to work hard and passion for the job

The Afigya-Kwabre District Director of Education, Mr. Ignatius Mwinbe –Ere Der, has urged teachers to continue to work hard and make the classroom environment lively and pupil-friendly.

He was speaking at a day’s in-service training workshop on “Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) and phonics held for 89 selected teachers in 30 public and private primary schools in the district at Kodie.

EGRA was meant to equip the teachers with the relevant teaching skills to improve on teaching and learning of the English Language.

Mr. Mwinbe-Ere Der encouraged teachers to constantly upgrade themselves to become more effective in the classroom.

He used the occasion to counsel them against unprofessional conduct that could create image problems for the teaching profession.

They should carry themselves with dignity to serve as role models not only to the children but other people in the communities where they teach, he added.

Mr. George Oppong, a Circuit Supervisor, said over 450 teachers in the district would benefit from the training workshop.
